in my own words …

I have wanted to write books for as long as I can remember (and I have a notoriously good memory). For me, writing is fundamental to being alive, whether I’m writing about a lived experience or a daydream—it is essential (which is why I have been writing for my own personal version of forever).

I hope my books are remembered. It’s one of the most magical parts of being a writer, the way stories go on. I might be a bit unique as an author to also hope I am remembered for what I was wearing while I wrote my novels. For me, fashion is the most beautiful thing in the world (which is why my first book celebrates the joy of cute clothes so much).

When I’m not writing or putting together an outfit, I’m usually at my ease either leisurely thinking my own little thoughts or watching this great big world, often with a cup of tea in hand. I like to spend my summers at the pool and my winters on an outdoor ice rink (mostly that means lazy-river-style on a pool float and slowly skating as if down a frozen river in a snowy forest while sipping tea, but I’ll swim if I’m playing mermaids with my girlfriends and figure skate if I have a fabulous figure skating dress on hand).
